Using the photo book as a compass, director-duo Ella Roze Bandouveris and Sasha Ivanir joined forces to create a short film that feels like it could live inside the book. This sustained investigation has helped me to process my growing up in LA. I have been able to visit spots that have informed and inspired me. Through creating And My City Held Me, I have been able to commemorate these places as well. I aimed to capture nostalgia while documenting pure the Los Angeles landscape, friendship love, and youth culture.
